Lecture by Lois Rea Carlson, CSB , on The Healing Power of Unselfishness, was inspirational and well attended

October 25th, 2016

img_4200Lois Rea Carlson, CSB (Christian Science teacher and practitioner) spoke on The Healing Power of Unselfishness in the Rancho Santa Fe church last Saturday to a packed house.  Her message was on point and a reminder to us all of the importance of being unselfish.

Click here to see a You Tube excerpt of her talk.

She gave a powerful personal testimony of healing of anemia, diagnosed by a doctor who gave her a week to have Christian Science treatment before he would begin his medical treatment.  Upon returning to his office she was, much to the doctor’s amazement, given a clean bill of health.

The Touch of Christ by Marsha Pecaut

August 31st, 2016

The Touch of Christ

It was my grandmother who taught me that God is Love. There were eight of us grandchildren, and she expressed unconditional love for each one of us. We watched her express love as a gentle and patient peacemaker. Grandma’s love for God and family, in bad times and in good, encouraged and uplifted me. She made me want to learn more about divine Love and how Love heals………………read more

Can we break the chains of materialism?

Can we break the chains of materialism?
Explore how prayer brings freedom

[Point Loma, San Diego]: What if the world we see and feel around us were an illusion? We live in a world where advertising creates desire for material things. But materialism goes deeper. Can we free ourselves not only from the hypnotism of advertising, but from all dependence on a matter world? International speaker John Tyler says, “We can free ourselves from these influences! I’ve found in my own life that, through prayer and active love, we can radically change our lives.”

A practitioner and teacher of Christian Science healing, Tyler will present a free interactive talk titled “Can we break the chains of materialism?” on [Saturday July 30, 2:30pm, at Sixth Church of Christ, Scientist, 2340 Chatsworth Blvd., San Diego, CA 92106].

Tyler’s ideas are based on the Bible, the original source book on Christian healing, along with the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, a book of universally applicable ideas on practical spirituality. This talk will focus on prayer-based action. Using scenes and ideas from the film “Matrix” as a metaphor, Tyler shows how we can free ourselves from the straightjacket of materialistic thinking. He illustrates this road to freedom with examples of physical and other healings.

Tyler, a long-time activist for civil rights, has degrees from both Princeton University and the Institut d’Etudes Politiques, Paris, and taught political science at Princeton and the University of Pittsburgh, before becoming a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science healing. He now travels internationally speaking about the power of prayer to bring peace, health, and healing in people’s lives.
