No Encinitas church service this Sunday, February 21. Please join us for the Longyear Museum screening of “Follow and Rejoice”.

February 21, 2016
3:30 pm to 5:45 pm

You and your guests are invited to the screening of Longyear Museum’s new historical documentary, “Follow and Rejoice” — Mary Baker Eddy: The Chestnut Hill Years, at the  Encinitas Community Center.

“Follow and Rejoice” is a documentary film about the years Mary Baker Eddy spent in her last home at 400 Beacon Street, Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts (1908–1910). The Discoverer, Founder, and Leader of Christian Science achieved in those three years what many would be proud to have accomplished in a lifetime.

The product of extensive research, this two-part documentary offers an inside look at Mrs. Eddy’s active leadership at Chestnut Hill and in the two years leading up to her move there in 1908. The centerpiece of the film is Mrs. Eddy’s founding of The Christian Science Monitor. Rare archival photographs — many of them never before seen — blend with reenacted scenes to bring this historic period to life. Episodes were filmed in the very rooms where Mrs. Eddy lived and made momentous decisions for the future of her Church. The documentary also highlights some of the household workers who devoted their lives to serving their Leader and the Cause of Christian Science in her Chestnut Hill home.

This free program includes brief remarks, the film screening, a 15-minute intermission, and an opportunity to ask questions. No registration is needed.
