The Trust Factor: From America to the Middle East – Take some time to watch all or just a part of this Monitor presentation. It is important more now than ever that we learn to trust each other.

Successful businesses and nations have a high trust factor of each other.  Something we are rapidly loosing in this country.   We can gain it back if we are willing to look differently at each other and it can start very simply with the smile of a little boy.  Here is a recount from a distraught mom after election day.

You know.. I was having a really hard time this morning. But then I took Max out to run some errands. His friendly manner made probably 7 different people smile this morning. People that didn’t seem like they had much to smile about. I then had friendly exchanges with all those folks too. I realize it’s more important now than ever for us to pull together. Help each other maintain the light and the joy that is this human experience. I’m nervous for sure. But we all have jobs to do. I was reminded of mine this morning. I hope you all find solace in yourselves, your capacity to show up for others and in your community today. I love you all dearly and I am remaining ever hopeful for a brighter future.

On June 27, The Christian Science Monitor’s editor, Mark Sappenfield, sat down with the former editor of the Monitor, Marshall Ingwerson, Monitor West Coast bureau chief, Francine Kiefer, and Monitor Middle East correspondent, Taylor Luck, for an in-person event called, “The Trust Factor: From America to the Middle East” in Newport Beach, California. The panel of Monitor editors and reporters discussed topics including, what role trust plays in the media and politics and how the Monitor builds trust with its readers. This event was sponsored by Christian Science Reading Room, 2436 West Coast Hwy, Ste. 105, Newport Beach. Over the Christian Science Monitor’s 110-year history, we’ve built a legacy of high-quality, distinctive journalism because we recognize that news is more than facts. It’s the story of how we are each trying to make our homes, communities, and nations better. What matters are the values and ideals that drive us, not just the who, what, when, and where of the news. Visit us online at: http://www.csmonitor.com/daily

You are also invited to join us for our Sunday church service at the Reading Room in person or on zoom Sunday morning at 10 am PT. To let us know you are coming, please email us at christiansciencenote@gmail.com and we can send a link to our meeting. After church we have an open discussion about the week’s Bible lesson and/or testimonies of healing and comments and questions about Christian Science.  *Please note: we do not have church during the Street Fair, but we do have the Mother Church service playing on the computer in our quiet study room.
